Downtown Clearwater Farmers Market- Every Wednesday (through May); 9 am-2 pm. Rain Harvesting Workshop- Wednesday, February 10; 2 classes: 2-3:30 pm and 6:15-7:45 pm. Have you ever thought "What a waste!" when you see the rain water pouring out of your down spout and then down the street? By attending this workshop, presented by Wilma Holley, Pinellas County Extension Specialist, you will learn how save that water in a recycled plastic barrel for later use. The collected water is safe for use on your potted plants, vegetable and herb gardens, and special plant collections. All attendees will receive set-up instructions and a reference booklet. Final 'Hands Across the Sand' Meeting- Wednesday, February 10; 6:30 pm. It's really important that each beach organizer who is working with us attend or send someone from their volunteer team to attend this meeting. Free Raw Foods Class at Village Health Market- Wednesday, February 10; 7 pm. In this culinary class you will gain knowledge in preparing healthier foods. You will also gain a better understanding of the raw food diet . The University of South Florida will introduce its new School of Global Sustainability with its first major conference Thursday and Friday, Feb. 11-12, featuring some of the world’s leading researchers in climate change, the environment and health in a series of discussions on the future of the planet and its inhabitants. All events - which will be powered through the purchase of renewable energy and whose carbon impact will be offset - will be held in the Oval Theater at the Marshall Student Center.
