We had tapas at Pinchos, next door to Ceviches. The food was disgusting. Food was not fresh, greasy and salty (probably leftover from Ceviche). Waiter argued with me when I complained. We payed our bill and left him a tip. We'll never go back. Too bad, we love authentic Spanish food.

A Ruined Anniversary

We have eaten here (St Petersburg) several times before, with reasonable success. So this time we expected no less, but what a surprise. After registering with the maitre'd, we were told it would be no more than 20 minutes as we were second on the list. 45 minutes later and after several parties who had come in after us were seated, we asked the blonde hostess why we still waiting, and got the flippant "sorry". Our waitress was good, until we got the paella, which the kitchen had put the WRONG rice on our serving. I guess they thought we were the fools. They have lost our respect and we will tell ALL our friends and the dinner club how badly the experience was.

Horrible Service

This restaurant was recommend by several. We made reservations a week in advance for a 29th birthday party. We arrived 10 minutes early, teh place was packed, after 20 minutes of waiting and being pushed and poked in the bar area the hostess came an took us to our seats. They shoved our party in a corner to wera the back side of the table chairs were pinned up against the wall and anyone sitting there could not even get out to go to the restroom. We spoke to the manager three times and asked for better accomodations and service. Each request was ignored and service got worse. As the night progressed drinks orders to an hour to get and then food another hour, some of the party did not even receive their food! At this point half of the table wanted their checks os they could leave. No server was at hand so again we went to speak to the mgmt who proceeded to tell us the same thing "we'll take care of it" after a few heated words they asked us to leave, kicked us out.... Half of the people did not pay and the servers could not even figure out who' bill went to whom... They actaully called the police on us and all said and done the final bill they said we owed was $181, which was not even correct, but after somone sai dthey would pay it they proceeded to take half off... The evening was supposede to be a happy time instead Ceviches made it the worst night ever! I would NEVER RECOMMEND CEVICHE'S in St. PETE TO ANYONE!! I will be contacting the headquaretrs as well...

LOVED IT

I had an amazing dining experience last night at Ceviche. The food was incredible and the atmosphere was enrgetic. Our server's name was Danielle and she was in all honesty one of the best servers I have ever come across. She was friendly and made us laugh. When we weren't sure what to order she patiently walked us through the menu and made fabulous suggestions. I will definitely go back. ps the scallops are unreal

I just got robbed at Ceviche too!

I ate at Ceviche last night. I checked my card statement this evening and sure enough, someone helped themselves to an extra $30!!! I always tip over 20% so it's not like I'm cheap, not sure why this happened. They said it was probably just a mistake and will call me back tomorrow but after reading this I feel less inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt.

CEVICHE'S STAFF IS STEALING FROM ITS CUSTOMERS

I recently ate there and when I looked at my credit card statement the waitress decided to give herself a $20 instead of a $15 tip. I called my credit card company and they took it off. I contacted Ceviche's and a manger called me back and left a message, stating he would call me later. I have left additional messages but I haven't heard back from them. Basically Ceviche is giving off the message that having their servers steal from customers isn't that big of a deal, but it is!
What makes matters worse is when I told my sister about it, she said they added a tip to her take out bill 3 weeks earlier. Her total was about $22 and when she looked at her bank statement the total was $30! This is ridiculous and unethical. I want as many people as possible to be aware of what is going on there!!!

Outstanding

Have been a few times and other how long it can take to get a table (an obvious problem when a place is THIS good!)have no complaints what-so-ever about Ceviche. Have always managed to sample a variety of tapas from the menu (small groups & we all ordered a couple of different things and shared) and enjoyed everything I tried. Nice wine list also. I have been happy with the service and surprised by the comments by other "CLers" as I tend to be extremely critical (too much time in the service industry tends to make one a bit snobby). In fact when I replied to the server's question "Can I get you anything?" I responded with a joking request for glasses for the gentleman across from me. A minute later the server actually returned with a pair of "readers" and asked if this might help. After we quit laughing we discovered it did!

Nice Location and Uhhhh Nice Location!

GREAT LOCATION. But the food has a bad price/value. And if you're a masochist, you'll love the snooty, snotty people who work there. Otherwise, Cerviche's has the absolute *WORST* service in Saint Pete. Go to Cafe Alma or Redwoods instead!

Fun Place-Bad Service!

The Ceviche in Saint Petersburg is a fun place to hang out, but the food is hit or miss. The service is also very poor, and don't expect any sympathy about this issue from the arrogant managers and owners. You pretty much go to Ceviche for a good pitcher of Sangria and great atmosphere!

My Favorite!

This is truly an amzing place. The food is rich and flavorful with endless possible combinations of dishes. Th atmosphere is VERY reminiscent of Spain, with the crowd getting thicker as the hour gets later. Must try the Sangria and the Scallops!

Lauren    09.06.07

crowded and expensive

This is not the place to go if you want to talk or have an intimate dinner. It is crowded and noisey, and the service is slow. Just a warning for anyone over 30. Not condusive to a warm setting.
