Generous with your timeline Alex, but I guess this topic could fill up most of an issue and that would be just part 1...left out a few important events:
2/01: Dubya suspends protection of over 60 million acres of forests from logging.
2/01: signs 4 anti-labor orders removing worker protections
3/01: Backs out of even a watered down Kyoto Agreement and vows to destroy the planet
7/01: rejects a reasonable treaty on biological and germ warfare
7/01:CIA meets with Bin Laden in Dubai
9/01: Pentagon war games conducted on September 11 coincide with terrorist attacks.
10/01: We launch a brutal war in Afghanistan that is still ongoing 7 years later and no closer to any sort of objective. Kill lots of people. Wheels in motion for another war in Iraq.

That's just a sampling from the first few months. I'm tired.

Your year end diss of my hometown reads like my campaign platform a few years ago. I'm glad to see it in print and hope some civic leaders pay attention. I covered about half of these issues in Chloe Coney's first question here:

City of Tampa and County officials should be held accountable for failing to show more resolve in tackling the homeless problem in Hillsborough County.
